Brief

Cooperation is a challenge where the goal is to achieve a goal alongside others. This challenge can be played individually or in a team. The players or team that reaches the goal first is considered the winner.

Where we expect good results from this solution

  • Disengagement, Low morale, Lack of motivation

The introduction of gamification elements to everyday workflow can be used to combat these issues, by providing workers with a clear goal that accurately reflects what is expected of them and a mechanism for them to track this goal while competing with their peers at the same time can bring a new level of variance to the work day that reinvigorates people’s morale and motivation to work.

  • Low team cohesion

By creating a common objective for a team, this challenge promotes shared commitment, mutual trust, and the ability for an organization to work together effectively. This team cohesion is set by strong interpersonal bonds that motivate members to participate and achieve set goals.

  • Low production / Failure to meet goals

In a similar way to what was mentioned above, by using this challenge as a method of communicating goals to the workers, it is easier for them to know what is expected of them to do an adequate job. This not only gives some tranquility to the workers that know everyday that they are doing what is expected of them, effectively doing what can be considered a good job, it also gives managers a way to guarantee that the baseline that they expect from them is always met. The freeform style of this challenge also naturally increases production since it gives workers an uncapped scoring power meaning they are incentivized to do as much as they possibly can if they wish to win.

Where the solution may not be the most adequate

  • High turnover

It is possible that this solution helps with this problem, although it is not what it was designed to solve, so we cannot guarantee direct results from using it.

  • Lack of speed, Lack of precision

This particular solution was designed with the goal of increasing quantity, it is possible that these two factors are improved using this solution but we cannot guarantee direct and consistent results to this problem using this solution.
