The Public Display (PD) can be a game-changer when it comes to engage your employees, as you can see in the "Public Display overview" article. But how can you create a Public Display?
Step 1: On the left side, in the menu, there is the “Public Display” section. If you click on it, already created Public Displays should appear in this page. If you haven't create any Public Display, the list will be empty.
Step 2: To create a (new) Public Display you should click on the plus icon on the top right corner. A new window appears. There are just 4 steps to have it ready.
Step 3: Select the audience, the PD language and click "Continue".
Select audience: Start by choosing the audience who will see the Public Display. To make it visible across the entire organization, select "All". You can also target a specific site, team or individual users. The challenges shown on the Public Display will correspond to those in which the selected users are enrolled
Select Display language: Choose the language you'd like to use for the Public Display. The available options are English, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
Step 4: A new window will appear, allowing you to choose which widgets to display on the PD. Select the ones you’d like to show to the chosen audience and click on the "Continue" button. There are four available widgets: Challenge activity, Metrics overview, Engagement KPIs and Top achievers.
Challenges activity: When this option is enabled, the Public Display will show both ongoing and finished challenges. You can set how long completed challenges remain visible (default is 24 hours). Additionally, you can adjust the transition time between challenges (default is 30 seconds) to control how often the display rotate.
Metrics overview: Enable this option to display metrics on the Public Display. The selected metrics (configured during setup) will appear with their most recently imported values and rotate automatically. You can also customize the transition time between metrics (default is 30 seconds).
Engagement KPI's: Select this widget to showcase how employees are engaging with the app. It highlights key metrics such as total store purchases, number of logins, achievements earned and kudos exchanged.
Top achievers: This widget highlights the top performers within the selected audience. It includes four rotating leaderboards: top 3 overall achievers, top 3 kudos givers, top 3 kudos receivers, top 3 store shoppers.
You can adjust the transition time between these leaderboards (default is 30 seconds) to control how frequently they rotate on the display.
Step 5: A new window will appear. Here, you can choose whether to enable animation effects and set a security PIN for your Public Display. Once you've made your selections, click the "Continue" button.
Effects: Celebrate achievements with visual and sound effects!
When enabled, the Public Display will show confetti animations and play celebratory sounds whenever a user/team reaches a milestone. It's a great way to boost engagement and make recognition moments more memorable.
Security: If you want to restrict access to the Public Display, enable PIN protection. This requires users to enter a PIN before accessing the PD on any device, ensuring that only authorized users can view it.
Step 6: Enter the details for your Public Display. Give it a name and an optional description to make it easy to identify later. Once you're done, click “Finish and Create” in the bottom-right corner to generate your new Public Display.
After creating a Public Display, it will appear on the main Public Displays page.
To edit it, click the pencil icon on the right-hand side. You’ll be able to modify all previously entered settings.
To delete the Public Display, simply click the trash icon.
