Brief
Solo games are a game type that focus purely on the dynamic of working as a singular individual against other people as individuals. Performance in these types of games is measured purely on a solo level so your outcome in a challenge is completely dependent on your employees work and effort.
Where we expect good results from this solution
Disengagement, Lack of motivation
The introduction of gamification elements to everyday workflow can be used to combat these issues, by providing workers with a clear goal that accurately reflects what is expected of them and a mechanism for them to track this goal while competing with their peers. At the same time, this game type can bring a new level of variance to the work day that reinvigorates people’s morale and motivation to work.
Lack of precision, Lack of production/Quantity & Lack of speed
Seeing as the dynamic in this game is purely focused on your employees performance as an individual, exceeding in all of these factors is more guaranteed to result in a victory. Therefore it is expected that these factors improve when a user is participating in a challenge of this type. It is important to note though that the improvement of these factors is somewhat dependent on the nature of the user and how competitive he is.
Where the solution may not be the most adequate
High turnover, Low punctuality / Attendance
It is possible that this solution helps with this problem, although it is not what it was designed to solve so we cannot guarantee direct results from using it.
Low morale
Although there is positive morale that can be generated from doing well as a solo participant, there is also morale lose for everyone else involved that did not succeed in the challenge, resulting at best in a net-zero of morale gain.
