A metric is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) created to establish challenges and measure performance. It typically reflects essential aspects of employees’ daily tasks, such as the number of boxes delivered, products packaged, or assistance and support calls handled.
With vaibe, you can gamify any success KPI that is data-driven and impacted by human behavior.
Here are the steps to create a metric:
Step 1: In the main menu, on the left side, select the "Metrics" section and click on the "+" button in the right top corner of the page.
Step 2: Select "Add metric" from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Set up the metric by filling out the following fields.
Name: Enter the name of the metric. This field is mandatory and can contain up to 100 alphanumeric characters.
Input method: Select the method (API or File) you will upload data regarding this metric.
Transaction ID: Enter the ID of the metric. In the case that you’re uploading the data automatically via API, the transaction ID should have the same ID of the metric in your data source system. This field is mandatory and can contain up to 10 alphanumeric characters. The ID must be unique.
Type: Select the metric type (Individual or Team). The type indicates to who the metric belongs (individuals or teams) and how the performance data will be uploaded (individually or collectively).
Safety feature: Please beware of the possible risks that the metric you are creating may present to your workforce and the challenges ahead (e.g., physical injuries). Please consult your organization safety-guides. If this metric can be a risk for your company, enable the safety feature option and this metric will not be listed while creating a Duel mode challenge.
Step 4: Click "Continue" to further create the metric.
Step 5: Fill out the information regarding the measurement of the metric.
Category: Select the category of the metric that you are creating. Note that a category can only agglomerate metrics of the same type and security configuration (safety feature). This field is optional.
Unit of measure: Choose the unit(s) of measure of the metric. There are five possible units of measure: unit, cube, duration (min), kilogram (kg) and percentage (%). Unit is used when you are counting number of items and cubes when you are considering the volume. This field is mandatory.
Calculation Method: Select the calculation method of the metric. There are two options: average or sum. This field is mandatory.
Reference value: This value is the expected baseline issued to show how the individuals/teams meet the working day objectives. In the scenario that you have a reference value for the metric that you are creating, you can introduce it as a reference in further analysis. This field is optional and can contain up to 10 numeric characters.
Step 5: Click "Continue" to review the metric.
Step 6: Review the information you have filled out previously and add a "Description". This field is mandatory and can contain up to 100 alphanumeric characters.
Step 7: Click on the “Finish and create“ button to create the metric or "Cancel" if you do not wish to create the metric.
