In vaibe, you have the option to create ranks for your employees. The User Ranks feature offers a dynamic, automated, and fair ranking system that reflects employee performance over a defined period. Let's take a look into the key aspects of this feature and how to manage them.

Ranks are calculated using a Simple Moving Average (SMA) based on employee's points fluctuation over a certain time period (e.g., last month). This approach ensures the system rewards sustained performance over time, rather than isolated spikes.

Key aspects of the ranks include:

  • Ranks are calculated using a formula-based SMA model, free from biases

  • The time window is configurable for your organization and can be: every day, every week, every month, every 3 months, every 6 months and every year

  • An adaptative SMA is used when data is limited, ensuring a smooth and fair starting point

  • Ranks reflect the fluctuation of each employee's points over the configured SMA period

  • Rank updates and recalculates happen automatically, triggered by specific actions

  • There are four ranks by default, but there is no limit to how many ranks can be created within an organization

  • Each rank can be fully customized (name and color)

  • Specific ranks permissions ensure secure management

How to manage ranks?

As a super manager you can create, read, edit and delete ranks, but for more information on roles and permissions in ranks read this article.

To manage ranks go through the following steps:

Step 1: In the main menu, on the left side, click on the “Users section. It will open a page (“Employees“ tab) with the list of all users in your organization.

Step 2: Go to the "Ranks" tab.

Here you see four ranks by default: Beginner, Qualified, Expert and Legend. The automatic average points are shown in each rank and also the time window defined by your organization.

Step 3: Select the operation that you want to do:

  • If you want to edit the rank color or name, click on the edit option (pencil) located at the right of the rank name and change these two aspects. Click on the “Save changes“ button to save the information.

  • If you want to delete the rank, click on the delete option (trash) located at the right of the rank name. A pop-up will appear. If you are sure that you want to delete the rank, click on the “Delete rank“ button. After clicking the button, you won’t be able to undo this action.

  • If you want to add a new rank, click on the plus icon in the right top corner. Choose "Add rank", a pop-up window will appear and you have to enter a new name for the rank and choose a new color. Remember, when a new rank is created, it is automatically assumed as the highest. Click on "Create rank" to finish creating your rank.
